Visiting Fellow

Xiaotian Li is a Visiting Fellow at the Human Nature Lab (February–August 2026) and a Professor of Sports Sociology at Capital University of Physical Education and Sports in Beijing, China. His research examines how health behaviors and physical activity patterns spread through social networks. Prior to joining the lab, his work primarily employed traditional survey methods to study health outcomes in Chinese populations. At the Human Nature Lab, under the mentorship of Professor Christakis, he is learning social network analysis methodologies to better understand the dynamic, relational processes underlying exercise behavior contagion. He is particularly interested in exploring spillover effects of physical activity interventions and hopes to integrate network analysis approaches developed at HNL with longitudinal health data from the Beijing Health Examination Center.
