Navin Kumar
Graduate Student
Navin Kumar is a former Ph.D. student in the Sociology Department at Yale University (2016 - 2021). Passionate about using research to help businesses outside the mainstream gain legitimacy, Kumar has collaborated on projects and initiatives in the Cannabis Industry and on Sex Work, Social Networks, and Masculinity.
In 2020, Navin was awarded a grant by the Horowitz Foundation for Social Policy for his dissertation research, “Social interactions and treatment outcomes from medication-assisted treatment in opioid addiction.” The Foundation aims to support social scientists in the early stages of their academic careers by administering small grants to Ph.D. candidates who are working on their dissertations.
