Laura Forastiere

Laura Forastiere is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biostatistics at the Yale School of Public Health, working at the intersection between statistical methodology and applied global health research. Her methodological research is focused on methods for assessing causal inference in program and policy evaluation. She has experience in design of experiments and analysis of complex data, including network survey data. Her research explores modeling, inferential, and other methodological issues that often arise in applied problems with complex and network data, and standard statistical theory and methods are no longer adequate to support the goals of the analysis. She developed statistical methods for assessing causal mechanisms and spillover effects in clustered encouragement designs and observational network data. She also enjoys fieldwork and has consulted for impact evaluations and research studies in Africa, South America and Asia.
