David Gelvez Alvarez

David Gelvez received his PhD in Economics at Yale. Prior to Yale, he completed his B.A. in Economics and a Mathematics minor at Universidad de los Andes in Colombia, his home country. He is passionate about empirical social science in general and eager for interdisciplinary collaboration. His work primarily focuses on the intersection of Economics and Network Science. He is currently an analyst at the research department of the Colombian Taxes and Customs Administration (DIAN). At DIAN, David is working on his dissertation using administrative records to study production networks and the social dynamics of taxationDavid is an avid reader, yogi and biker; an art lover in training; and enjoys cooking immensely.
