William Hobbs

William Hobbs
Will is a PhD candidate at the University of California, San Diego, and is a visiting graduate student researcher at the Yale Institute for Network Science. His current research studies the effects of deaths on friends and family members, mortality prediction and social support predictors of longevity and resilience, and use of quasi-experimental methods to study social influence. More generally, he specializes in causal inference, social networks, and ‘big data’ projects. He is a political scientist, and is externally affiliated with the Facebook Data Science Team. He has a BA in Economics and Chinese from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
